Lauren’s love and passion for real estate developed at a young age starting as she watched her grandparents maintain and manage their rental units in the Los Angeles area, where she is from. At thirteen years old Lauren was imploring her mom to rent a steamer so she could remove the wallpaper from the family bathroom and repaint.
At the age of twenty-one, Lauren and her partner purchased a historic home which had been built in 1905 in Everett, Washington. The home had been converted into a triplex sometime in the 1930s and they promptly began restoring the house to its original character one unit at a time. It was somewhat of a trial by fire renovating a property of that age - there were two floods from the original galvanized pipes! Lauren honored her vision and kept every historic element she could - all the while showcasing her design skills that were respectful to the traditional architecture of the home.
After living the “beach life” in Imperial Beach and getting settled back into the area, Lauren decided to purchase a home again, this time in La Mesa. Of course, it was a diamond in the rough - but Lauren knew what she was capable of and was up for the challenge. She could see the potential in this humble abode when no one else could - or would.
Purchasing the house from the original owners and it was in desperate need of updating. Slowly, over the next two years, Lauren designed and orchestrated the gradual restoration and revitalization of their home. It was another complete overhaul top to bottom. This renovation wasn’t all aesthetic changes - there were major issues that had to be addressed and corrected. From resurfacing the pool to fixing a crack in the foundation to adding air conditioning and solar panels - she handled it all. Once all that was in order, it was time to move on to the none-less-stressful but more visually appealing kitchen and living room renovations. Pictures of this incredible transformation can be found in the Before + After section here.
With an undeniable enthusiasm for real estate in her veins, Lauren once again followed her passion, stopped delaying the inevitable, and became a licensed Real Estate agent. The opportunity to continue doing what she loves while supporting others to accomplish their goal of homeownership is what keeps her fulfilled and motivated in this ever-changing industry.
Having purchased both multi-family and single-family homes with a VA loan (as well as moving almost a dozen times) she relates to the many military families here in San Diego and the challenges that come with relocating to a new place.
When she isn’t working, Lauren has a heart for animals in need. Along with making rescue dogs the happiest pups in the world, Lauren also enjoys supporting Farm Animal Refuge - a local agricultural animal rescue that focuses on abused, neglected, and unwanted farm animals.
Lauren is extremely grateful for the ability to put her dedication to work with the amazing agents at Team Steele San Diego Homes as well as the clients she has the honor and privilege of serving.
